Back Newsletter Vol.1, No.8 Next

2000/10/16

Dear Family and Friends:

Hallo! Hello! ¡Saludos!

This is our eighth newsletter this year. I hope that you will agree that since we began these communications, we have come a long way. Ernesto's family tree has grown and formed new branches; the roots also seem to be getting bigger and deeper.
Tobi's website is now fully functional and ready to accept your contributions. We have had over 200 hits so far. If we were in the eCommerce world, we would be making some good money. That reminds me, please consider sponsoring Tobi's AllAdvantage viewbar.

This week you will notice two new entries in the Gallery section. There is a biographical note on Johann Diedrich Baetcke and Alex Maseberg along with their picture. I was fascinated to learn so many interesting things about our relatives. Dr. Baetcke, as you know, was Johann Ernst Christian Riefkohl's father-in-law. Many of us descend from the marriage between this Riefkohl and Mathilde Baetcke. Alex Maseberg was the son of Agnes Riefkohl--one of Johann Ernst Christian Riefkohl's daughters--and Carl Friedrich Maseberg. So in my case, Agnes was my great-great-grandfather's sister.

Please join us in welcoming Terri Sorgent to the Riefkohl Ring. Terri is the daughter of Walden August Hopper and granddaughter of Martha Riefkohl, from the Arizona branch of the family.

Last week's mystery Riefkohl is Georg Gerhard Riefkohl (1776-1865). All of the continental USA families descend from this Riefkohl.

Next week-end is the Arizona Riefkohl family reunion. I personally can't wait! We'll have a report for you next week.

Please continue to write your comments on our Guestbook and send information to Tobi.

As far as this week's mystery Riefkohl, we'll skip that this week. I'd like to get your ideas for mystery Riefkohls. Just send me an email with the name of the individual and a some information about that person.

Have a great week!
