Hallo! Hello! ”Saludos!
On October 21, the Riefkohls in Arizona had their annual reunion at the majestic White Tank Mountains Regional Park (http://www.maricopa.gov/rec_svc/white_tank/default.asp#133), which is located about 25 miles or 40 km. west of the city of Phoenix. Something unusual happened: we had a thunderstorm. Nevertheless, the reunion was well attended. I had the opportunity to meet all of my relatives from this branch of the Riefkhol family. I took a lot of pictures that we plan to share with you soon on our website. We hope to have another reunion in the spring of next year. We'll keep you informed in case you want to come to Phoenix.
Tobi and Ernesto have been very busy these past few days. To say that they are ecstatic is an understatement. Actually, all of us should be very excited. Tobi has recently found the family tree of Regina Catharina von Schnehen, the wife of Georg Daniel Riefkohl. As soon as we have permission to share this family tree, we will do so. All I can tell you right now is that her family can be traced back to the 13th century. To put this in historical perspective, that is the period of Henry the Lion (Saxony) and Richard the Lion Hearted (England). How many people do you know that can say they can trace back their family 800 years?
The Day of the Deads and Halloween are fast approaching. Please share with us what you plan to do for those fun holidays. I know our own children are busy getting their customs all ready. Our son Ben will be Robin Hood (you know the man in tights), Bianca will be Queen Amidala (from Star Wars), and Brianna will be a Lady Bug.
